Volunteer

Would you like to help a child learn to read? Last year VRH helped over 5,000 children improve their reading and become confident and literate for life.

This year we hope to reach even more, but to do so, we need your help:

  • Is there a VRH branch in your area? (Please use our branch finder to check)
  • Can you spare 3 hours per week throughout the school year?
  • Can you commit to this role for a year?

If the answer is yes to the all of the above, please go to What's involved section to find out more.

If the answer to any of the above questions is no, check out our donate section to find other ways you can support us.

Just a few reasons why the time and money donated is so appreciated by VRH and everybody we support...

Volunteering with us is very rewarding.  You'll see the children's reading gradually improve over time and you'll help them learn to love books.  ...

In order to help you become an effective VRH reading helper, we provide full training and ongoing support.

VRH works with companies to support a volunteering scheme for employees in a local school.  Find out what's involved and how to apply below.
