VRH support and training
In order to help you become an effective VRH reading helper, we provide full training and ongoing support.
Ongoing support is provided by your local VRH branch and via a dedicated support worker. You can find your local branch by using our VRH branch finder.
VRH branch support includes:
- Initial and ongoing training
- Provision of a huge variety of books and games for use in your sessions
- An assigned VRH support worker available to you throughout your placement
- Regular visits and feedback from your support worker
- Regional events for networking and exploring relevant issues
- Branch meetings for sharing ideas and resources and a chance to talk to other reading helpers in your area
- A newsletter to keep you up-to-date
- Advice, answers and ideas via telephone or email
