Following her support of VRH through the Evening Standard’s ‘Get London Reading’ campaign HRH The Duchess of Cornwall paid a visit to Cavendish Primary School in West London to see some of our reading helpers in action, speak to the children who have been supported by VRH and meet two of the new reading helpers she has sponsored through the campaign.

Sue Porto (CEO), Jamie Pike (Chair of Trustees) and Susan Belgrave, our founder, accompanied the Duchess around the school.  The Head Teacher Anne-Marie Inwood explained the value of the VRH service to the Duchess and introduced her to all the children still at the school who have benefitted from the scheme.

Our reading helpers Sally Floyer, Lindsay Moffat and Athony Herbert all met the Duchess and read with their children whilst she listened in on the sessions.  Also, two of our newest recruits – Suzanne Diver and David de Cruz - who are being sponsored by the Duchess had a chance to meet her.
