Get London Reading campaign takes off!
We’re really proud that our involvement in the London Evening Standard’s ‘Get London Reading’ campaign has generated such a huge response. For those in London, you have probably seen the coverage in the evening paper, but if you have not been able to pick up a copy, you can read more on the Evening Standard’s website.
The campaign has led to over £122,000 being donated to VRH and over 3,000 enquiries made by Londoners to become reading helpers. It has also created a real buzz in London around how we can work to tackle illiteracy and ensure all children have a brighter future where reading is not something to be fearful of.
Off the back of the campaign, Sue Porto (CEO) and Sally Floyer (Trustee and reading helper) appeared on BBC breakfast last week to talk about our service. They were joined by Courtney, one of the children Sally supported last year who has made great progress since she was helped by VRH.
We hope the momentum continues and look forward to keeping you updated on progress with the campaign.
