About VRH
Since 1973 Volunteer Reading Help has been training and supporting volunteers to help transform the lives of children by giving them the gift of reading. We have been a registered charity since 1980 and company limited by guarantee since 1987.
VRH volunteer reading helpers visit schools in three geographical regions of England providing one-to-one support to children who have fallen behind with their reading. The results of this can be little short of life-changing as we address early a problem that can have a serious impact later in life. The VRH model has been developed over nearly 40 years and in that time we have helped tens of thousands of children to become confident readers, literate for life.
